Bossier City charter commission struggles to form an agenda
Members of the Bossier City charter commission aren’t sure what they’re supposed to be working on. You might think that term limits would be at the top of the list — it’s a major reason why the body was formed in the first place, charter commission member Shane Cheatham said.
“I truly believe with all my heart that we need to think about moving forward with the one item that has been put in front of us. It's the item that we've heard over 3,000 people,” Cheatham said.
Yet at least one member isn’t so sure that term limits should move forward.
“I don't want to just pass something that that I think is going to be detrimental to the city without deciding if it really does fix what we think it's going to fix,” Julianna Parks said.
The commission will host a number of meetings and town halls to solicit citizen input. Meetings with be held at the Bossier City council chambers:
Feb. 12 at 11 a.m.
Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.
March 4 at 6 p.m.
March 20 at 9 a.m.
March 28 at 6 p.m.
Town halls will be held at various locations:
Feb. 20 at 6 to 8 p.m., Hooter Park MLK Community Center
Feb. 22 at 6 to 8 p.m., Shady Grove Community Center
Feb. 27 at 6 to 8 p.m., Bossier Instruction Center, Airline
