EXTRA: Dak Prescott donates $1.1 million to Haughton High School football program
The debate over the name Prescott Field may be over.

While there has been much discussion related to the naming of the Haughton High School football field after Dak Prescott, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback may have just found a way to silence his critics.
The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate reports Prescott has donated $1.1 million to the school, dedicating it solely to Haughton High's football program.
“It's huge for our facility," Haughton head football coach Matthew Sewell told the Advocate. "We’re ripping out the old (weight room) floor taking out all the old equipment. We’ll have all new equipment and weights and then obviously at the stadium we're desperately in need of a new scoreboard. It's going to be phenomenal.”
A request by Haughton High School principal David Haynie to name the school's football field Prescott Field met some resistance at the last Bossier Parish School Board meeting.
"This naming a football field after a civilian or something seems to be a little unusual. Why are we naming this the Prescott Field?" District 2's Kent Bockhaus asked.
"Have we heard anything about a donation?" he pressed.
Apparently, no one at the meeting knew what was in the works.
